Ticket prices change by journey, by season and by traveller type. We do not list prices here, because prices change and old numbers mislead. Look up the current price on the official Puffing Billy site.

- The journey. Longer journeys cost more than short ones.
- The traveller. Adults, children and families may have different prices.
- The day and the season. Special events can have their own prices.
Where to look
- The official site. Start here. It shows the current price, the days and the departures.
- Member benefit sites. Motoring clubs and similar groups, such as RACV and NRMA, list Puffing Billy offers on their benefit pages. Check if you are a member.
- Travel marketplaces. Sites such as Experience Oz, Klook and Headout list Puffing Billy tickets and tours.
- Tour companies. Day tours from Melbourne can include the train and other stops.

Is a reseller cheaper?
Sometimes. A discount can come with limits. Read the cancellation rules and the date rules. If the offer needs a fixed date and the date sells out or you cannot go, you may lose the money.
A sold-out date is also not fixed by a reseller. Check that the reseller shows seats for your date before you pay.
Is Puffing Billy worth it?
That depends on what you want. It is a heritage steam train through the Dandenong Ranges. The ride is part of the day. Many visitors pair it with time at Lakeside. See which journey to pick.
Tickets that are sold out
